Council and Sailing School Join Forces to Get Dun Laoghaire Children Afloat

#LEARN TO SAIL – Dun Laoghaire's Irish National Sailing School (INSS) run by Fireball dinghy champion Kenneth Rumball has joined forces with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Sports to provide sailing lessons for children from a number of primary schools in the area.

'The idea is to bring whole classes of students on the water to experience the thrills and spills of sailing' says Rumball.

INSS provides all essential gear for the course, boats and buoyancy aids, wetsuits and wind breaker.  'Our instructors are very experienced, we have a modern clubhouse facility and we are fully insured. We have an excellent safety record and pride ourselves on our superb reputation' Rumball adds.

All courses are either Royal Yachting Association (RYA) or Irish Sailing Association (ISA) accredited.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
