The new Sunseeker won't cramp your style
Space is at a premium in Manhattan – when you build a city on a small island, every inch is critical. And so when Sunseeker went about designing their new Manhattan 60, they clearly had the same view of the world as those New Yorkers. Designed for effortless cruising and boasting striking new lines, the 60 is a stunning example of how clever design can maximise space and leave everyone feeling a little more comfortable.
Offering choices of layout, specification, interiors, engines and extras that can be tailored to suit any lifestyle, the 60 uses immense windows at saloon level to add that sense of luxury to the package.
The flybridge helm position provides an exhilarating driving position while the main helm station, surrounded by comfortable seating, allows guests to interact with the skipper. There’s plenty of seating up here for guests, and so the layout helps the socialising on board. A drawback – for some – is that the galley is located downstairs. It’s well kitted out, but the arrangement inevitably cuts someone off from the general chatter while dinner is being prepared.
The main saloon is light and airy with comfortable seating as well as a dining table that has space for up to six people. However, if al fresco dining is more your style, there’s a table and ample space in the aft cockpit.
Accommodation is for six, in two staterooms and a twin cabin. The aft master stateroom benefits from plenty of natural light and is complemented by a walk-in cedar-lined wardrobe. The VIP forward stateroom is also an en suite with generous space. Crew quarters or a utility area can be added as an option.
But enough about looks and layout; how does the 60 handle when the throttle is exercised? Coming in at 64 feet, she’s deceptively agile, and can turn faster than most. She’s also a sporty little number, well capable of handling the challenge of a little swell. Sunseeker are offering the 60 with a choice of either 900hp MAN or 775 Volvo D12-800 engines. With the former, you should be able to touch up to 31 knots, on a cruising range of 270 miles.
