Unfortunately due to weather, force 4–5 winds increasing with short sharp frequency the All Black Powerboat team aborted its attempt at the inaugural Cork–Fastnet–Cork record attempt 25 miles out. Skipper John Ryan told Afloat.ie: 'It's just not worth the risk to boat and crew'.
Ryan then tested with Safehaven Marine's Thunder Child on Saturday afternoon in Cork Harbour.
The Arklow based boat, which set a 12–hour Round Ireland Record last year, is going to attempt the Fastnet record again after the coming two weeks of poor weather forecasted has moved on.
